Job Description

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Operations Leadership Program (OLP) is  a 24-30-months management trainee program at one of our Owens Corning manufacturing plants for production, technical and leadership training. During this time participants will be mentored by seasoned technical, operations, and maintenance professionals. Within our Operations Leadership Program we are looking for candidates who will either be part of our Manufacturing Leadership Program (MLP) or Maintanance Manufacturing Leadership Program (MMLP) in either one of our European Owens Corning plants in Belgium, The Netherlands, Sweden, Germany and Lithuania. Participants will be challenged by various leadership opportunities, found in a manufacturing environment such as:

  • Safety leadership;
  • Supervisory Leadership;
  • Process and product technologies;
  • Operational systems and management;
  • Maintenance planning activities;
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) methodologies.

In addition, you will develop the following skills necessary to be an effective manufacturing leader:

  • Troubleshoot and problem sovle designs, materials, and/or processes;
  • Leverage analytics & data-based decision making;
  • Enhance leadership capabilities and lead teams;
  • Effectively communicate and elevate performance of self and others;
  • Strengthen technical expertise;
  • Understand customer-driven focus.

At the conclusion of the MLP & MMLP, you are offered a full-time assignment as a Supervisor/Leader/Engineer at a European Owens Corning manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to projects, materials, and/or processes;
  • Utilize data-driven decision-making and analytical capabilities;
  • Enhance leadership skills and lead teams effectively;
  • Communicate efficiently to improve both personal and team performance;
  • Strengthen technical expertise;
  • Understand customer-oriented operations;
  • Operational systems and administration;
  • Planning for maintenance activities;
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or close to graduation) in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant;
  • Previous relevant internships / apprentinceship, preferably in a manufacturing environment;
  • Demonstrated leadership in professional, service, social, or student organizations;
  • Fluent in English, both spoken as written;
  • An additional language like Dutch, French, Swedish, German or Lithuanian is an advantage;
  • Willingness to travel and the flexibility to temporary relocate (during rotations).
