Job Description

The purpose of the role - to measure and prioritize the biggest risks for people safety on site and develop a plan with timescales to eliminate and minimize the risks. To work closely and proactively with Plant manager, line managers and employee’s representatives to implement positive health and safety culture in site. Ensure that the site complies with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adapted and adhered. To implement Group H&S policies and standards at the Lithuania plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and implement health and safety strategies to comply with Group safety standards.
  • Administer health, safety and fire security, civil safety documentation, be up-to-date on law regulations.
  • Lead internal training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks.
  • Lead fire security, first aid training, internal health and safety education programs.
  • Maintain ISO 45001 accreditation for the site.
  • Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be eliminated or controlled to prevent occupational health problems, accidents, injuries.
  • Inspect and evaluate workplace environment, equipment and practices, in order to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  • Investigate accidents to identify route cause and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future.
  • Develop and maintain medical monitoring programs for employees (doctor visits, TV slides, health screening for new starters and annual).
  • Advising Ariogala site on health and safety questions.
  • Organize building maintenance.
  • Review company civil safety plan and ensure that it is implemented.
  • Selecting, ordering and issuing personal protective equipment for employees.
  • Plan yearly budgets for H&S and building maintenance, control expenses.
  • Inspect working at height equipment.
  • Ensure that first aid kits and fire-fighting equipment are ready to use.

Requirements

  • Higher education.
  • Health and safety certificate.
  • Valid Fire safety certificate.
  • Valid Civil safety certificate.
  • Excellent knowledge of health and safety, fire security, civil safety standards and regulations.
  • Good English (written & spoken)
  • Experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Driving license.
