Data Architect

This role will focus on aligning Contis’ Data Architecture with our Business Strategy, to support our accelerated growth.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and overseeing Contis Data Systems, as well as building and managing a highly skilled team of data professionals that will fulfil internal stakeholders and external client requests

• Understand the data landscape of payments and the value that data and insights brings to our organization.
• Develop database solutions to store and retrieve company information in a seamless and safe way, maximizing performance and reliability in support of company processing operations
• Analyze system requirements and implement migration methods for existing data
• Understand the data sets at the company’s disposal and extract in a meaningful manner
• Make data available to the rest of the organization through predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R.)
• Ensure we can extract insights from data
• Work closely with the Engineering and Product teams to ensure full alignment across our roadmap
• Act as a business partner to all stakeholders and senior management, ensuring that our data capability fulfil business needs
• Ensure new technologies, methods and data sources are identified and used.
• Scale our data capabilities with Data Analysts, Data Engineers and Data scientists as appropriate.
• Strong business acumen - can understand the value of data in the context of our Client Implementations and our market.
• Hands-on data professional, able to implement data pipelines in multi-cloud environment
• Experience with programming or scripting languages, Python, Shell Scripting/Powershell etc.
• Able to build Proof of Concepts (POC) with internal and external tools.
• Very strong data manipulation skills including:
  • SQL language proficiency
  • Data / database modelling & design
  • ETL (Extract, Transfer, Load) scripting
  • Data warehouse knowledge
  • Data visualization software knowledge and analysis
• Proven experience in leading development teams (internal & offshore) on complex bespoke application design and data management challenges.
• Proven experience in implementing BI and Analytics platforms
• Previous work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
• In-depth understanding of database structure principles and data mining.
• Has clear understanding of how payments work
• Problem solving skills and the ability to be pro-active
• Demonstrates effective communication skills and ability to interact effectively at all levels
• Detailed knowledge of data protection regulation and the practical application of GDPR

• Monthly salary (brutto) from €5000  The final level of the salary will depend on competences displayed and results achieved. The salary may be further negotiable for candidates of outstanding competence and qualification.
